The Waverley is situated on Whitby's famous West Cliff and is thus very conveniently positioned for the Promenade, beach, harbour and shops. Children over the age of 5 years are welcome and enjoy specially reduced rates if sharing a room with parents. Unfortunately, due to the quiet nature of the hotel, pets and children under the age of five are not allowed to stay at The Waveley. There are 3 parking spaces at the back of the hotel (please enquire for availability stating the make and model of the car) or, alternatively, 'on street' parking is allowed on Crescent avenue......click here for more information |

The Duke of Wellington is an ivy-clad traditional eighteenth century inn located in Danby, near Whitby. The hotel is an ideal base for exploring the Moors, Whitby and the coast. Built in 1732, the Inn was used as a recruiting post during the Napoleonic Wars. An iron plaque of the Duke of Wellington was recently uncovered on the outside of the building and has been mounted on the fireplace in the bar.
